๐Ÿ‹๐ŸงLemon cake scents (part 2)

1. Ani X by Nishane extrait
This starts off a little spicy and the opening paints a picture of Hercule Poirot smoking his pipe in his tweed jacket, but don’t worry the lemon cake dry down saves this from being a complete masculine scent. There is no lemon cleaner smell, but rather a rich deep lemon vanilla with spices fading away in the background as it dries down. The extrait does not disappoint the performance, and makes the hefty price a little more worth the purchase.
NOTES:
[top] lemon, bergamot, melon, ginger, cardamom, water notes, pink pepper
[mid] green, apple, blackcurrant, patchouli, lavender, sage, Rose
[base] vanilla, sandalwood, cashmere wood, white musk, cedar, ambergris
2. Devotion by Dolce & Gabbana edp
I am sorry but this was a fail for me. The dried flower smell was a big turn off, and although it eventually fades, I despise it enough where I don’t want to go through it every time I spray it on me. If you love florals, you might like or even love this, but unfortunately, Devotion did not work for me. Moderate longevity.
NOTES:
[top] candied lemon
[mid] panacotta, orange blossom, rum
[base] vanilla
3. Hufflepuff by House of Sillage edp
A whimsical lemon cake scent. I feel like a Disney character more than Harry Potter. Imagine burning a Machintosh Apple Yankee Candle while baking a lemon cake. Although the apple scent lightens the heavy lemon cake scent, I would not wear this in the sweltering heat. Performance and longevity is moderate. My personal favorite out of the four, because of it’s playful and pretty nature of the scent.
NOTES:
[top] Italian lemon, coconut, peach
[mid] gardenia, Freesia, jasmine sambac
[base] bourbon vanilla, vanilla bean, virgina cedar
4. Lira by Xerjoff (Casamorati) edp
For the ones that like their lemon cake thick and aromatic with a sprinkle of spice, Lira is the one for you. Technically there is no lemon in the notes, but the citruses mimic a sharp lemony scent. The longevity can be disappointing, especially for the price point, so definitely look for a discount on this purchase.
NOTES:
 [top] blood orange, bergamot, lavender
[mid] cinnamon, licorice, jasmine
[base] caramel, vanilla, musk
